Hello, I'm Barney Evans

I'm in the final year of my MEng in Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence at the University of Southampton, where I'm predicted to graduate with a First.

My academic journey includes achieving A*, A*, and A in my A-Levels for Chemistry, Computer Science, and Maths, respectively. This strong foundation in STEM subjects allows me to provide comprehensive support to students studying Science and Mathematics.

I've been tutoring for several years through platforms like MyTutor and summer camps, and I'm now offering remote private tutoring to help students achieve their academic goals.

As a current university student, I understand the challenges of education and exam preparation. My approach focuses on building confidence, developing problem-solving skills, and making complex concepts accessible.

I hold an enhanced DBS check and am committed to providing a safe, supportive learning environment.

How I Teach

Remote Learning: Lessons are conducted remotely via Microsoft Teams, with in-person options available exclusively within the Southampton area.
Recorded Sessions: All remote sessions are recorded (with permission) and made available to parents for review, allowing them to stay involved with their child's progress.
Interactive Learning: My lessons feature real-time document collaboration, allowing students to actively participate rather than passively watch. This hands-on approach leads to better understanding and retention.
Privacy Assured: All recordings are kept secure and shared only with parents/guardians, adhering to strict data protection principles.
